Jason Islands, an archipelago in the Falkland Islands were purchased by Leonard Hill in March 1970 as a penguin sanctuary. He issued the banknotes in the late 1970's, to raise money for his conservation activities. After Len Hill's death, the islands were purchased by Michael and Judy Steinhardt, who donated it to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
